Hi I'm Wallace

I am Mormon. I was inactive from church for 3 years.I found my way back through the testimonies of those who really care for me !

About Me

I'm a Navy veteran, a singer, a painter, a drawer, an athlete, an Islander, a Instagrammer and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I served in the Navy for 4 years and during this time I voluntarily fell away from the church and its teachings. In 2013 we left on a 6 month deployment that turned into 9. We toured many amazing places such as; Dubai; Busan,South Korea; Phuket, Thailand; UAE; Bahrain; and ending our deployment responding to Syria, concluding our tour with a tour to Naples, Italy. After we pulled out of Italy, I caught MRSA, a tissue eating bacteria, on my right leg and the Doctors told me that the antibiotics were not responding and that amputation seemed likely. On the Sunday of that weekend a friend came to visit me. Her presence there brought me great peace. Without realizing what I was going to do, I looked up and asked her if she would ask our chaplain, who is also a Mormon, to give me a blessing. Later that afternoon the doctor came back and asked me if I wanted visitors. I depressingly answered,"yeah sure." Chaplain walked in with another brother. We talked and i stated my concern and also stated that I didn't know what my feelings are with church but I knew that i needed Gods help. He gave me a blessing like no other I have had before. The spirit touched my heart in such a sensitive attitude that in order for me to hear and feel it my physical pains where excused and after that I knew what needed to be done. In my life Heavenly Father has placed so many people to help me stay on the right path. Although not many people have such a blessing I am a witness that such a blessing is available. I am a Mormon because without my Saviors help I would be utterly lost.

How I live my faith

As a 2nd Counselor to the Sunday School president in a young single adult ward, I help prepare teachers and students for their classes. I am a caregiver to a man with Multiple Sclerosis. He is amazing and learn a lot from him!

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Jesus Christ taught that baptism is essential to the salvation of all who have lived on earth (see John3:5). Many people, however, have died without being baptized. Others were baptized without proper authority. Because God is merciful, He has prepared a way for all people to receive the blessings of baptism. By performing proxy baptisms in behalf of those who have died, Church members offer these blessings to deceased ancestors. These individuals in the next life can then choose to accept or decline what has been done in their behalf. Show more Show less
