Hi I'm Matt

I'm from Arizona, I wrestle, play the violin, and I'm a Mormon Missionary in the Georgia Macon Mission.

About Me

I'm a wrestler who's interested in aerospace engineering, and I have a growing testimony of Hope.. I also enjoy being able to work with my hands and helping others. I'm also interested in music and play the violin and cello, with guitar being more casual. I love hot foods, I love this church, and I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, first and foremost, for myself. I grew up exposed to the church, but was never forced into anything. In my early teens I decided for myself that I wanted to find out whether or not the church was true for myself. In the end, I made the choice myself to be baptized and to live by the gospel. I am part of the gospel to help better myself and to be the best person I can be, serving others and helping those who are in need. More recently I've also realized how much of a differences actually living the precepts of the Gospel of Jesus Christs makes in a persons life. Outside of spiritual well being, it makes you a better person and ultimately the best person you can be. When you throw in the continual love of God through scripture, covenants, and modern day revelation, it's astounding to realize how much this faith has to offer. I'm a Mormon because I know this faith, religion, and church is true and bring eternal happiness to all those who choose to allow it to do so, and can even offer a second chance to receive these blessings to people who weren't able to here on this earth.

How I live my faith

Faith takes time to develop and to show. I try to show my faith by doing the best I can every day, trying to grow continually. Something that took me a while to learn is that it's important not to compare yourself to others. Especially when dealing with God, it's the best you personally can do that it important, not the best of others. I show faith by Living the Gospel to the best of my ability and helping others do the same.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Matt
The proper authority to administer the ordinance of baptism is clear in the example that Christ gave to us Himself. Rather than be baptized by any priest or passerby, Christ traveled to John the Baptist who was ordained of God with the authority to baptize. For here and now, though, the most important reason to be baptized by a proper authority is to reap all of the blessings that God has in store for us when we choose to follow his will as closely as possible which is done by seeking that authority that He Himself lends to man through the priesthood, and taking advantage of it to come closer to our Heavenly Father. How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Matt
Live by the precepts of the Gospel and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, as well as the teachings of the prophets in the Bible and Book of Mormon. The best way to exercise anything (whether it be faith or muscle) is to work it, and what better way to work faith than by following those "exercise routines" that God has given us? It definitely takes time and practice, but in the end your faith will grow, I can promise you that, and do so in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Show more Show less
