Hi I'm Jed Cowling

I Love my family! I grew up in Idaho, I love the woods! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to go fly fishing and hunting. The outdoors is where I love to be. It brings peace of mind and helps us understand the vast creativity of God. I grew up in Caldwell, Idaho. Working, playing sports, going to school, and being a normal kid doing normal kid things. I think that one of the greatest things about me is that I have such a wonderful family! I know it's because of the church my family is in, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, that they are such a wonderful one. I can look within my family alone and see the difference between those that accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ and "lived it" and those that didn't. The difference is huge. I am so grateful to have a loving happy family that has fun and does kid stuff with me still. Even though it has been over 10 years since my family has been completely together due to missionary service, and schooling. We will get together one day soon, and hopefully throw a Frisbee.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a "Mormon!" and the reason why i am a Mormon is because of the witness of the Holy Ghost that bore witness to me the truth and divinity of Jesus Christ. Followed by a witness of the divinity of the Book of Mormon, of modern day prophets, of eternal families, and of countless other restored truths that i have asked questions on and have received joyful answers about! OH WHAT JOY! When the Holy Spirit of God confirms a truth in your heart, after studying and pondering something out in your mind it brings resolution and complete and utter devotion. I still remember the feelings that came to my heart as I prayed to know the truth of the Book of Mormon, I didn't understand why it was true, but i knew it was true. I then undertook the process of learning why the Church was true, as I studied I was filled with joy and understanding, and i have come to a point where I can look at the doctrine found in the scriptures and I can say, "If not The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints then where do I go? Where is the priesthood authority, where is the covenants, the promises, the prophets, the revelations?" But the ultimate reason is because of that sweet Spirit that bore witness to me of the truth of the church and the divinity of The Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Every day I need to sup at the mercy of my Savior Jesus Christ. I find myself everyday asking for help and guidance so I can learn at the quickest pace and perform at my best self. I learned that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is much greater and grander than any event ever to be performed ever. The selfless action in which Jesus Christ took upon Himself the sins, the sickness and the pains of all mankind. During which He willfully yielded to the Fathers will and endured the punishment of justice, allowing mercy to enter the eternal judgement for all mankind. That event in the Garden of Gethsemane, followed by the cross on Calvary, Finished with His resurrection three days later still amazes me and fills me with awe. As I learned of Jesus Christ and His Atonement for me, and how I could use the gospel of Jesus Christ to change me, I was filled with so much joy and I quickly wanted to do everything I could to be Like my Savior Jesus Christ. I started serving my fellow neighbor, loving my family, and striving to be the best me I could possibly be. I still trip and fall and I find myself seeing how young and naive I am sometimes but, I am growing every day, learning, improving, growing. Consistently I find strength as a I pray to my Father in Heaven in the name of Jesus Christ for help. I have purpose, identity, responsibility, love and happiness. I have learned for myself that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is a daily effort, and it begins with Faith in Jesus Christ followed by sincere repentance, after which we make covenants or promises with God so that we can receive promised blessings our Father in Heaven wants to give us such as the Holy Ghost, and as we endure to the end for the rest of our life, we are always filled with wonder and joy. This is what happened to me! I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to live this pattern everyday, and to step in the footsteps of my Savior Jesus Christ!
