Hi I'm Jack Allen

Born CA, Graduated from USC. Career-Aerospace for 40 years. Married 54 years, 5 kids & 18 grands and 6 greats. A Mormon father.

About Me

As a youth I loved sports, especially volleyball. Surfing was one of my hobbies and I still have my 1953 Hobie 10 foot balsa wood board. The Mormon Church provided supervised sports activities and our team won the "All Church" volleyball tournament for 5 years for both Juniors and Seniors. I was chosen "All Church" for two years. I met my wife at University of Southern California at a Church Institute class. We were married in 1960 in the Los Angeles Mormon Temple. We now have 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and 3 more on the way. My family is very important to me. I love to garden and watch the miracle each spring of new growth. I worked in the Aerospace industry for forty years and became the Director of Information Systems. I had a very rewarding career and enjoyed by profession. I love the Boy Scout youth program and my 3 sons and so far, 7 out of 7 grandsons have obtained the rank of Eagle.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and want to be more like him. i am a Mormon because the pure teachings of Jesus Christ are taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). I know that I was made in the image of Jesus Christ. That he has a body shape like I do. God says we are made in his image. That makes sense to be. I can believe in a God like that. Not just a spirit. The more I have learned about other religions, the more I know that the Mormon Church is Christ's true church on the earth. I have met our modern day prophets and know they commune with God and direct his Church under His guidance. I gained my current testimony through the Institute program and attendance of church meetings my entire life. Even it it wasn't true, it has been the best help in raising my family all of these years. And I think they have all turned out to be righteous Mormons also.

How I live my faith

I enjoyed participating in Church activities as a youth (sports, dances, plays, service projects, ect.) The adults that led the programs gave much of their time and efforts to help the youth. As an adult I have been in the Boy Scouts Program as a leader for over 30 years and coached many sports activities for the youth. I have also served as a Senior Missionary with my wife. We served as Public Affairs Missionaries working with Interfaith Councils in both Huntington Beach, CA and Los Angeles promoting Interfaith understanding and tolerance. We also worked as Senior Missionaries with Brigham Young University Pathway program that helps people start/finish their college education. I believe that it is important to serve others as Jesus did.
