Hi I'm Melanie

I go to Brigham Young University. I love swimming, music, and making people laugh! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Melanie! I am the second oldest of 5 in my family! I have an older sister serving a mission in Goiania Brazil. I will be trading her out in Brazil in October on my mission! I spend a lot of time playing on my violin, piano, and ukulele. I love finding opportunities to play, and have performed in several orchestras as well as a community (fiddle) band! I love spending time outside--camping, traveling, swimming, you name it! I like making others happy, and am excited to bring the people of Brazil to the joy found by living the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the LDS religion. Living in Utah, it has been easy to find friends that share my standards and faith. But that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I find so much peace and joy in the gospel. I love having the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost I received after I chose to be baptized and confirmed a member of the church. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that I am important to him. He loves me and has a plan for me! I have read the Book of Mormon, and know that it is true. I know that by reading the Book of Mormon, it can teach me and guide me to live my life so that I can return to live my father and heaven and my family for eternity!

How I live my faith

One way I show my faith is attending church each Sunday and serving in my calling! Growing up in the church, I had several opportunities to lead in the different class organizations of the church's young women's program. I helped plan uplifting activities every week to help my peers live high standards and learn their divine nature as daughters of God. I was on a committee for a larger stake youth group to plan a youth activity trek to Wyoming where we learned about the faith of our pioneer ancestors . I am currently a ward missionary, which I love. Each week I spend time to get to know less active members and help to fellowship them and get them involved in the ward!
