Hi I'm Joey

I grew up in Yokohama, Japan. I love to yo-yo. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I recently graduated from high school and am serving a full time mission (two years), in Guam and many of the Micronesian islands. I love exotic and foreign food and culture. I'm bilingual. I play any sport that involves a ball and I like to mountain bike. My older sister is currently serving a full time mission in Tokyo, Japan, near where we grew up together. I like to work on computers and fix hardware and software problems. I plan on going into computer security for a career and will be attending Brigham Young University to major in that field. I like to bake and I like to cook using asian flavors. Japanese and Indian foods are my favorites. I like to sing and to yo-yo. I had braces my senior year. I like to play video games with friends and I like rock and techno music. I enjoy card games and strategy games a lot. I love to read, and I especially enjoy fantasy and science fiction stories, but when my hands are busy (yard work, typing, biking, etc.) I plug in some earbuds and listen to my favorite stories. I am an Eagle Scout. If I had to use one word to describe me it would be: supersocialandsomewhatsarcasticandconstantlycrackingjokesandverylongwinded. My hands constantly shake depending on how nervous I am. I want to travel all over the world, and maybe one day, bike across Europe. I want to learn Mandarin, Russian and Korean. Again, I am a Mormon. I want to raise many children, and teach them all how to walk in the path of the Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything I hold dear would not be a part of my life if I were not a member of this church. My family, my closest friends, my personal testimony, and the constant feeling of our Heavenly Father's unending love for me. I know for myself, that I would not be a kind or decent person if I didn't have this church in my life to guide me.

How I live my faith

As a young man in the church, I enjoyed all of the service and activities I got to be a part of. Some of my closest friends are those that I've served side-by-side with. I was very active in my church's Boy Scout troop and became an Eagle Scout. Also each sunday morning, as a young man, I've arrived at the church early to prepare the sacrament, and each sunday I blessed or passed the sacrament with my fellow young men. I love to hang around new members at church to make sure they feel comfortable and fellowshipped in this church.
