Hi I'm Martha

I am a wife and a mother of 7 and grandmother of 26. I have lived in California all my life. I was a travel agent. I am a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I am a wife, mother and grandmother. My family is essential to me. I have traveled to many places around the world and love learning of new cultures and people. I love to learn! I crochet, knit, scrapbook, and love anything crafty. I have been making wedding cakes and specialty cakes for more than 20 years for friends and family. I have to be creative. Taking photographs is also a passion for me. Not only of family but of nature also. I love to be outdoors and walk frequently around my neighborhood. Being in nature calms me and reassures me that God lives and created this world and all that is in it for us, his children. I love the beach, the mountains, the desert, the rivers and lakes, the flowers and plants, and all the animals. I guess you could say "I enjoy life!"

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that helps me to be a better person in this life and the next. I know God has a plan for me and that he loves me. He wants me to be happy and he has provided a way for me to accomplish that. Living the Gospel makes me and my family happy. We know the blessings of an eternal family. This knowledge helps me through difficult times. I have an assurance that if I will live a righteous life I will be blessed and protected. Not that my life will be easy but I can endure anything with the help of my Father in Heaven, I will be with my family after this earthly life. I know God's plan of happiness is true and it fills me with joy!

How I live my faith

I love genealogy and have learned so much about my ancestors and their lives. I have had the opportunity to help others with finding their family members also. I love to teach the youth of the church and watch them progress in their lives. Serving others brings joy, not only to them but to me also. If you want to be happy, serve others. Teaching children about God's plan for them is a blessing also. When asked to serve I gladly say "yes". I know God is a loving father and wants me to be happy. I am happy when I serve others.
