Hi I'm Josh DeWitt

My name is Josh DeWitt I'm from the state of Arizona. I'm a father, husband, student and healthcare worker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 2 wonderful boys that have distinct personalities which intrigues me. One is more outspoken while the other is shy and cautious. They are incredible, and have given me an insight into the joy our Heavenly Father must have when he sees his children growing up and developing there unique traits. My wife Marti and I have been married for 13 years. We were the first couple sealed for time and eternity in the Snowflake, Arizona temple. Marti is a great example of service to her fellow man. She sees to the families needs and then serves others outside the home on a regular basis which I admire. I have tried to emulate some of her best traits, but I fall short most of the time. She's beautiful not only on the outside but on the inside as well, which in my opinion is the best combination. I currently work in the healthcare field as an ICU monitor tech. I have been trained to watch the heart rhythms of patients in the ICU and make sure that they are doing well. I am currently enrolled in school pursuing a degree in the field of Healthcare Administration. I love the game of football (American Version) my son and I enjoy watching high school football together. We also watch college football when we can which we both enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember I was sitting with a group of co workers and they asked me this question. They asked " Why would you be a Mormon, when you can have so much fun not being Mormon". In the blink of an eye I received a witness to my mind and heart at that time of why I would choose to be a Mormon. I have received confirmation by the spirit that this church is truly the Church of our Savior, I have seen others converted as well by the same manner. I have felt the love of the Savior as I have seen great mercy afforded me during difficult times and during times of joy. I have enjoyed the great moment when I was sealed to my wife for time and eternity which also assures that my children will be linked to me for eternity. As a 20 year old kid I had the chance to stand with my missionary companion and watch as a young family was sealed for time and all eternity because we chose to perservere and ask the father of that family to be baptized. The Holy Spirit testifies boldly to your heart when truth is present. There is no invention devised of men or counterfeit entity that can make you feel so overwhelmingly happy as the sweet confirmation of the Holy Ghost. His job is to speak truth to our heart and minister that which the Father and the Son testify of. He is bound to this end so he cannot testify of anything else but light and truth. I have felt that many times in my life as a member of This church. I can equate it to the feeling you get when you hear the general authorites speak during general conference. Jeffrey R. Holland is my favorite speaker , its as if the spirit is so strong that you can touch it. I love that feeling, It's that feeling that testifies to me that this is Christs one and only true church. That's why I'm a very proud Mormon.

How I live my faith

My wife and I have moved around quite a few times and so we have had a lot of oppurtuinities to serve in many different capacities. Currently my wife is the 7-8 year old teacher in primary. She also does achievement days which she enjoys considering she has three boys at home that don't really like to "bedazzle" or apply sequins to anything. She works hard at her callings and even though its tough sometimes, she shows her dedication in every task that she undertakes. I'm currently the ward mission leader in my ward and I have had a blast. Working with the members and the full time missionaries has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have enjoyed sharing the gospel and helping those that need a little boost, also seeing the interest and understanding in the eyes of the non members has been awesome. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is familiar with all humankind. We just forget because of the vale between this earthly existence and the heavenly sphere where God resides. It is our job to identify that familiarity and introduce more of that message. When they feel that familiarity and understand that what they hear is God's truth that's the understanding that I enjoy.
