Hi I'm Peter Jr.

I'm a military brat, a third cultural child, a wrestler, a son, a brother, and a friend, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a second generation military brat. I spent half my life in America growing up then when I was eleven years old I moved to Italy and have been here ever sense. Even though being a military child is not always easy I have been able to make many friends throughout my life that I will never forget. The only constants in my life have have been change, my family, sports, and hobbies. I love my family very much. I am the second of five children and the oldest boy. My family has learned that no matter where we go in life we always have each other and our Heavenly Father. Everyone has to have a getaway though and I chose sports. I love wrestling, running, singing and juggling. Wrestling for me is what kept me sane with all the change and chaos in my life. I dedicated most of my high school years to wrestling. I was also a vocalist in the R&B band at my high school. We were able to perform at local schools and were invited to perform at quite a few other venues as well. I love computers and especially computer programming. I am planning on studying Bioinformatics in the future and making my career in that field. I am not planning on settling down in one place, traveling is in my blood. I hope to get married and have a wonderful wife and amazing kids then go where the Lord takes me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. However I had to find out for myself so that I could stand alone once my parents were gone. I had very big doubts regarding the story of Joseph Smith. That was the hardest part for me to accept but I decided to put God to the test. I decided I was going to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was truly a book from God. I knew that if it was true then Joseph Smith had really been called a prophet to translate this book and to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. So I read it, prayed, and God answered my prayer. I am a Mormon because I experienced the wonderful principle of personal revelation. God spoke peace to my mind and to my heart and I had an undeniable feeling that what I had read and been taught was true. Once I had that answer I did everything I could to accept the call to "come, follow me" (Luke 18:22). I am a Mormon because that is what I know to be true.

How I live my faith

I try to always live my faith by being "an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (1 Timothy 4:12) The most important thing I try to do is love God and have charity for my fellow men. In the past I was a family history consultant. I am currently serving as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Italy, Rome mission. I love the people here and everyday my love for them grows stronger. I try to do my best to serve those I come into contact with and to spread the joy that this gospel brings.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Peter Jr.
As Christ said in the days of old, "freely ye have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8) The members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have been asked to give to all men in the same way that we have received, that is, freely. Christ taught, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth [...] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven." (Matthew 6:20) Based on these two principles we should not sell what God has given us freely to get worldly gain but instead serve out of love for our fellow men and create friendships that are more then superficial and will last through all eternity.
