Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Eagle, Idaho. I love being outside and spending time with my family.

About Me

I am the oldest of five kids and just finished my freshman year of college and loved it! I still don't know exactly what career I'd like to pursue but I do know what activities make me happy. I love to play lacrosse! I have played for five years now and my favorite position to play is midfield, attack and defense. I also really enjoy ultimate Frisbee, piano, dance, singing, rock climbing, biking, and running. Basically, I love to be moving whether it is with my hands or feet or all of the above.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It makes me happy to know I have a purpose in life. A purpose in this life on earth and the life hereafter. I find great comfort in knowing that I can be with my family forever. I am a Mormon because the Gospel makes me want to be a better person. The more I learn about Christ, the works He did and the love He has for our Father in Heaven, the more I want to be like Him. I have noticed a difference in myself and in my life as I strive to keep the commandments and follow the teachings of the Prophets. The day always seems a little brighter when I use my ability to choose to do what's right. I know I need Heavenly Father's help, guidance, and blessings if I am to make it through this life. I have felt comfort in times of need. I have received conformation when making hard decisions like what college to attend. I have felt the spirit confirm there is a God above who lives and loves us. I know that Christ came to this earth to Atone for our sins. I know that I am not perfect but through Christ my sins can be washed away. I know that the Lord has given us a Prophet to lead and guide us as well as scriptures to give us personal guidance. I know that God hears and answers our prayers. I know that if we put our full faith in Him we will be blessed beyond what we can imagine or plan for ourselves. I am a Mormon because I want to be a follower of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church. Sunday is my favorite day as I look forward to a day of rest after a crazy week. I need time to refocus my life on Christ and remember what the real purpose of this life is. I hope that I also live my faith by trying to treat people the way Christ would. Christ loved everyone and one of the ways He showed His love was through service. Service is one of my favorite things about the church. Not only does the Church encourage members to do service but also provides service opportunities. Through the Church I have helped make blankets for the humanitarian center, hats for new born babies, coloring books and educational material for orphanages, scarves for the Special Olympic Athletes, as well as yard work and house work for neighbors and friends.
