Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Southern California. I love soccer, surfing, & taking pictures. Currently serving a mission in Boston. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of three kids. Before coming out to serve a mission, I did a semester of college at UC Berkeley in Northern California and I hope to study Chemistry there. I love to play soccer. I have been on more teams than I can count for about 8 years. It's a big family sport that I like doing when I play with my brother while my dad is coaching. I am totally a lake and beach person. I like to sing in choirs...never by myself though. Singing is a unique way to connect with people through music and I am grateful for those talents. I play the piano to relieve stress; I think it's fun. I like a lot of different music especially alternative. I like to hang out with friends, drive around, watch movies, and take pictures. I am temporarily serving in the Massachusetts Boston Mission while I wait for citizenship. I will then serve in the Bangalore India Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I struggled because I did not have a relationship with God. No matter who you are, what you are going through, or what you have done, it is important to know that God loves you because you are His child literally. He sent Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, to live on this earth and die for all of us so we might know of this real love. There is a way to be forgiven and it has to be through Christ's true church. His church has placed a prophet on the earth so that we might be guided and never loose our way. I joined this church because I know that Christ's church was reestablished on the earth through Joseph Smith. I found that love through the correct doctrine and holy priesthood. I am so happy to be a Mormon and I am happier that I know God and that he is working through all of us to build Zion again.

How I live my faith

I attend a very diverse college that requires me to live off my own faith. In anything that I do including clubs, classes, activities, or study groups I do my best to conduct myself in a faithful and honest manner. I am part of the University Young Single Adult ward in Berkeley, California which allows me to connect with people who share my beliefs and who are incredibly fun to be around. I am part of the welcome committee there where we are actively meeting new people to get to know them and make them feel comfortable. My friends are a big support to me mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I use them to help me study properly, listen to my struggles and help me get through them, run and play with me weekly, and to increase my faith be openly discussing religious ideas. It is important to me to stand up for my church and for my beliefs and to always be a representative of Jesus Christ.
