Hi I'm Mariah Riddle

I am a dancer, musician, and an artist. I love people and making them happy. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I come from a family of 7 and I love them all so much. I fall as the oldest child and have 3 younger sisters and 1 brother. I attended Utah Valley University my Freshman year majoring in Nursing (which could be subject to change to Dance Education). Dancing is my passion, it is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time, as well as play the piano. I love music all around! I also love to swim and bike, and have a goal to complete an Iron Man triathlon at some point in my life. I have currently been called to serve in the Washington D.C. South Spanish-speaking mission for a period of 18 months. I could not be more excited to serve as a representative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a Mormon from the time I was born. Being raised in this church I can honestly say has been the best thing that has happened to me in my life. I believe that everyone has a point where it is the right time in their life for them to receive the knowledge and teachings of this gospel and eventually come to accept it. God created us all equally, but we all are our own individual person and we all learn differently and make different choices, thus leading different lives. I know that God knows what is best for us, and that He knew it was best for me to be born to a father and mother who were both followers of Jesus Christ and members of His church, because who knows where I would be without that? As I have gotten older, I have come to know of this gospel and the truthfulness of it's teachings through scripture study and prayer, and that is why I have chosen to continue to stick with it. Just because I have grown up in this church does not mean I have to continue believing. I choose to be Mormon because I was able to establish my faith in Jesus Christ, and find that firm foundation in wanting to emulate and follow Him, by being baptized in the same way he was. Through the guidance in my companionship with the Holy Ghost that I was given that day I was baptized, I have been able to make tough decisions and push through hard times and trials with faith and ease that everything will work out for the better. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us, and that He wants us to return to Him one day. I have chosen to prepare now for that time when I am able to meet Him again, which is why I continue to follow the teachings of this church-- which is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Being the oldest of 5 children, there comes a great pressure in feeling the need to be perfect. Which by all means I am NOT perfect. I try my best to live my faith in being an example for my siblings to look up to. I try as hard as I can to be the best support system I can be for each member in my family. Throughout my life I have had the opportunity to attend seminary and institute, in which I have striven to the fullest to get the most I can out of each lesson by keeping a journal. This helps me with problems and trials I have come across to look back and receive strength and guidance from the things I have been taught. Not only has this been in seminary and institute. By attending my church meetings and classes each week, reading my scriptures, and praying to my Heavenly Father it helps me to live my faith to the fullest, and magnify the calling He has given me to serve a mission. I would not be serving a mission for this church if I did not know this gospel was true. I know that Jesus Christ loves all of us and I have felt his love for me in everything I do. Through living my faith, I have chosen to serve a mission because I know this is the most important thing Heavenly Father wants me to be doing with my life personally at this time. I trust in Him, I rely on Him, and I seek guidance from Him through the spirit and prayer as I live my life to the fullest and share His loving kindness with those around me.
