Hi I'm Brad Albrecht

I was born in Cali but grew up in Arizona. I love learning and sports. Currently I"m serving a mission in Las Vegas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning new things, playing sports and trying my best in anything I do. In high school I was on my schools swim team, and played tennis and football. I also love spending time outdoors, like camping, hiking or skiing. Currently I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. After I serve, I will go to Brigham Young University to study physiology and hope to become a doctor.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in a Mormon family, I am at the age where I continue to be a Mormon by choice. Being Mormon gives me standards to follow in my daily life and it gives me the knowledge of why I am here and where I am going. As I apply this knowledge, Jesus Christ provides the perfect example for how I should think, act, treat others, and who I want to become. Another reason I am a Mormon is because I have seen the blessings someone can and will receive as they live according to the teachings of Christ in my own life as well as in the life of others. As a missionary I have the chance to help people change completely and start living according the way Christ wants them to live and seeing the amount of happiness they have received is remarkable. I am a Mormon because the things Christ taught us are truly there to guide us and bring us happiness in our lives.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by being a missionary. However, before my mission, I also enjoyed being engaged in many church activities. During high school, I served on a youth council for my schools seminary class. Seminary was like a regular high school class but instead of learning about geometry or grammar we studied from the scriptures, such as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Being on the youth council was really fun because I was able to help my other class mates, and plan with my teacher so we would all learn as much as possible and have the best experience that we could. I also served as a home teacher. As a home teacher, I would visit families in our congregation monthly to teach the gospel and to see if they needed anything. I also play the piano at different meetings and believe that music is a great way to express faith and to help others express theirs as well. Right now as a missionary I have the chance to serve for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! As a missionary I get to represent not only the church, but also Jesus Christ. I go around and talk to people and teach people the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and how it will bless their lives. There are many scriptures in the Book of Mormon and the Bible that say as we serve others we are really serving God. The way that anyone can really come close to God is by serving out of pure love and charity for others. As a missionary I have the chance to do that every day. The key point is that they way I really live my faith, right now on my mission and after, is by always looking to serve others with the love of Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Brad Albrecht
The atonement is the greatest gift ever given! Even though it was close to 2000 years ago that Christ went in to the Garden of Gethsemane and then died for us, every day we all have the chance to feel the effects of it and use it in our lives! Every time I am having a difficult time or put into a difficult situation I know I am not alone. Christ has that perfect knowledge of what I am going through because he has felt it himself. He wants and is willing to help me and everyone else. I have the confidence every time I pray for help that I will receive it because of the atonement. All anyone has to do to be able to use it is to follow the basic path that he has given us- have faith in him, repent, be baptized by someone with the proper authority, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and then endure to the end! I guess another way to put it is the atonement is the great expression of love that Jesus and Our Heavenly Father have expressed to me and to everyone else in the entire world. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Brad Albrecht
We believe that there we will all be resurrected, meaning that our spirits will be rejoined with a perfect body, just like Christ after the third day and that we will all live forever. The key to this question though is in the definition of eternal live. There is a very distinct difference between immortality and eternal life. We will all inherit immortality. We will all live forever. This is a gift from God, because of his infinite grace and mercy through the death and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ. This is why grace is so important. We will all be saved through grace no matter what we do. But we will also be judged according to our acts and our desires here in the Earth. Those who follow Jesus Christ and have faith in him, repent, are baptized, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and then endure to the end of their lives keeping all the commandments, will inherit eternal life. Eternal life is living in the presence with God and also Jesus Christ forever. Show more Show less
