Hi I'm Brysen

I've lived in the salt lake valley my whole life. I enjoy life, for life is joyful! Especially if you;re a Mormon!

About Me

I, Brysen, am turning 19 in a month. I love a lot of different things! I've always loved climbing. Every time I see a building I try and work out a way I could get on top of it. Same with trees, rock walls, mountains, anything that's cool! I love Snowboarding, and can attest to the fact that Utah has the best snow on earth! I started snowboarding when I was seven, so I've been at it for a while. I love boating, and am good at Wakeboarding and Wakesurfing. I've always loved swimming. It's one thing that I never get bored doing. I could swim forever! I can cope with cold a lot better than most people I know. I don't really enjoy heat so much though... I really love music! I appreciate almost all types of music, especially classic rock and classical music. Any music that leaves you feeling good, music that makes me smile. =) That's about it. I always do my best to smile. I'm not as good at it as some people, but I do my best.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know it is the right thing to do. How I know it is the right thing can be explained in one sentence. When I obey God's commandments I feel a peace and happiness that can be found nowhere else in life. That in itself is enough for me. When I walk into church and I see all the smiles, the people who have had hard times and many trials, but still always smile, this acts as a testament to me that the Lord cares for all of us, and that the LDS church is true. I don't really have a conversion story. I've was born and raised in the gospel, and over the last few years I've gained a testimony for myself through obedience and hope. Summed up in one sentence, I know the church is true because the spirit told me so.

How I live my faith

Until just barely I was the priests quorum first assistant. I did my best to befriend all of the other young men in the word, though I had a hard time relating with some of them. I now have my mission call. I'm leaving to the Dominican republic in two weeks! I really can't wait! I've been trying to prepare as best I can, which includes reading scriptures in Spanish with my dad every morning. I have blessed the sacrament about every other Sunday for the last year. I've grown more comfortable with it over time, to the point that now I can relax and concentrate on the spirit while saying the blessing. I'm very happy to have a wonderful ward full of amazing examples.
