Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a university student, an upcoming missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university student currently enrolled at Brigham Young University. I am the eldest son in a family of five, and we get along just like any other family may. I enjoy playing the violin and have often been entertained in playing chess, watching TED talks, and learning how to cook (or at least make food edible). Nonetheless I am always eager to pick up a new skill or hobby anywhere and anytime.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but being born into the LDS faith does not suggest one is converted to its teachings and doctrines. For me, conversion came fairly gradually, through a process of asking questions, and patiently receiving answers via a number of sources line by line, precept upon precept. I asked, and it was given unto me. More than that though, it was a realization that there was a divine Father in Heaven who truly loved me that gave me the testimony that I hold dear today. I know of few other places where kindness and compassion are as rampant than in this loving church.

How I live my faith

I am soon to arrive in Portugal to serve a two-year mission, preaching the gospel of this Church. It is a commitment to put off my schooling and to leave my family and friends and dedicate myself to a singular cause, but I am happy to do this service to a church that has played an integral part in my life. Other activities such as home teaching and going to a LDS seminary all throughout high school have been simple ways in which I happily live my faith. Above all however, I strive to live my faith mostly in my day to day activities, from basic household chores to Eagle Projects, as my actions ought to reflect the beliefs I hold dear.
