Hi I'm James

I grew up in Mapleton, Utah. I love trail running and biking. I will be a full time missionary in Busan, Korea. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family. I am the oldest of seven children. I enjoy the outdoors. I run, bike, repel and paintball. I have hiked all over southern Utah and love the red rock. I love reading and writing. I would like to publish a young adult novel. I recently graduated from high school and was accepted by the college of my choice. Instead of attending school this fall I will serve a two year mission for the church. I have been called to serve in Busan, Korea. I will arrive there in November. I plan on attending college upon my return and going into medicine or engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because in this church I learn who I am and where I am going. I know that every person on the earth is a child of God. I know that he loves us and created a plan that we might have joy. I am a Mormon because of Jesus. We believe that he atoned and died for us. He was resurrected so that we can live again. This is a church of clean slates. Christ made it so that we all can be redeemed. If you have sin in your life you can repent! You can change your ways! I'm a Mormon because I love this church. I love the way it is organized and the opportunities it gives for service. In this church people try to live like Christ did. We encourage others to follow his example. This is why I am going to be a Mormon missionary. I want to teach people about Jesus and his love for us. I want to tell them that there are second chances and that God loves them. I want them to know that by keeping the commandments they can have complete joy. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love my faith. I read from the New Testament and Book of Mormon daily. From this I gain a better knowledge of Jesus Christ and his love for us. The stories in scripture inspire me to pray and gain a closer relationship with God and his Son. I also read the words of modern prophets. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) has a prophet who gives us guidance for this time and age. His council helps me to live my life in a way that will bring me closer to Christ. It is the prophet who said that every worthy young male in the church should serve a mission. We were promised that if we did this we would be blessed. I trust the words of the prophet. This trust is evident in the fact that I will forgo education and employment, for the time being, to serve a mission. I know that I will be blessed. I have already been blessed.
