Hi I'm Ed

I am a retired cop, I ride a Harley, and I am Mormon.

About Me

I was a cop for 26 years, 11 of those years being a motor cop, before going out on medical retirement. I love my Harley and ride every chance I get. All 4 kids are out of the house and my wife and I go out in our travel trailer every chance we get. We are avid Disney and SeaWorld fans and to go the parks often. Now that we have 6 grandkids, we are always on the go to parties, gatherings, and such. I have a salt water fish tank and that is a project in and of itself.

Why I am a Mormon

I was complacent in my spirtitual life and felt I was on an easy path being a Catholic, but my wife was not. My wife had started meeting with the missionaries and taking the lessons and I told her if this Church was so important to her that I would like to go and listen. Well, she put me to the test and called my bluff one Sunday to go with her and it was a Stake Conference meeting. I really enjoyed it and asked if I could go with her to her next lesson. I continued to pray to know that the Church was true, but the answer wasn't coming. One evening when I was riding home with a member from a priesthood conference, I was told that maybe I wasn't asking the right question. So I did as he said, but the answer didn't come right away. One day driving home, I had just finished a prayer asking for a sign or something to show me what I should do and then it hit me. Why wouldn't it be true? Do you think God would leave everyone here alone with no way back home? That doesn't make any sense. Right then I understood and new that this Church was true and that I needed to repent and get baptized. This is the right path and I know it won't be easy, but I have freely and gladly chosen it.

How I live my faith

I set aside at least 30 minutes each day to read the scriptures and go out with the missionaries on occasion to talk with people who are investigating the Church. I usually Usher on Sundays at our Ward and I teach the youth.
