Hi I'm Yared

I grew up in California. I'm vegan. I have the soul of a poet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California, but currently live in Washington. I love meeting new people! My interest are eclectic. I enjoy cooking, reading, writing, and anything outdoors. I have been vegan since 2010. I am pursing a career in psychology! However, those plans are being set aside for the moment. I will first be serving a mission. I'm assigned to labor in the Honduras Comayagüela mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I was about 7 years old when I accompanied my aunt to a Catholic Church, that was the first time I heard about God. He seemed wonderful! Someone who always loved you like your parents but a thousand times greater and always watched over you; my interest in God emerged since then. Throughout my life I attended various religions, but none felt right. I knew there had to be something more. In my life people were placed who lead me down the path to finding The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My family and I attended one Sunday and we've been going ever since. I was baptized in August 2012. This was what I had been looking for; it felt right, it felt complete. I knew this was where God wanted me to be. I know this church is true, not because someone told me it was or taught me to believe in it, but because God let me know. Heavenly Father wants us to know the truths of all things, and with faith and a sincere prayer anyone can receive answers. I love this gospel. Although I have always been a cheerful person, this gospel has brought into my life a knowledge and greater joy I didn't believe existed.

How I live my faith

On a daily basis I try to say my prayers and read my scriptures. I focus on the eternal perspective of things, it helps when making decisions or simply interacting with people. I am the gospel principles teacher in my branch. I teach the basics of the gospel to those who are new members and non-members, but are interested in the church. Teaching this class gives me an opportunity to not only share my faith with others, but also learn and live it more.
