Hi I'm Helga

I love to make things beautiful. I love people, especially babies. I love to learn, good music, good movies & I love being happy.

About Me

I am from German descent. My parents were born and raised in Germany and experienced the hardships of living through World War II in their own backyards. After marrying and with 2 children they decided to begin a new life in America and ended up in the Arizona desert where an older sister and I joined the family. After living outside of Arizona for a while, I returned to Arizona with a fabulous husband and we have three amazingly, fascinating and diverse children. My youngest son is a senior in high school and my two older children are currently serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; my daughter is in the Dominican Republic and my son is in Oregon. Each is having unique experiences teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and serving and loving the people in very diverse parts of the world. I am currently working as a newborn hearing screener and I have the fabulous opportunity of being around brand new little babies and working among some of the best medical professionals around.

Why I am a Mormon

One thing I love about this church is I don’t have to rely on someone else’s belief, I can find out truth by asking my Father in Heaven directly through prayer if this is His gospel. I have done that very thing, I have read the Book of Mormon and I have asked God in all sincerity if this book contains His truths. After some soul searching and with great desire I received an answer of its truthfulness from Him. I know that God does exist and He is my Father and He knows me by name and He loves me. You can find out these truths as well. Wherever you are in the world there is a church near you. There are representatives in your area who can answer questions you may have and give you a wealth of information and direction. Please ask. =)

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, it shows me how to be happy, how to love others and what I can do to help others. This is not something that is intrinsic in all of our growing up experiences but it is available to everyone who truly wants to experience it. Some people believe that the commandments our Father has given us are restrictive; merely a list of things we cannot do and that God is a punitive being. I see the commandments as liberating. By using them as a guide we are protected from a myriad of negative (or even catastrophic) consequences.
