Hi I'm Jacob Smith

I live in Eagle Mountain, Utah. I work at Deseret Industries. I'm a Rehabilitation Counselor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father of 4 wonderful daughters. I have a bachelors degree in Physical Education, a Masters degree in Sports Administration and a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. I love all types of sports both watching them and playing them. My favorite sports to watch, however, are swimming, baseball, and football. My hobbies are writing, and playing or hanging out with my family or watching movies with them. I love my family, I love my church and I love my job.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family and to parents who raised me in this faith and as a Mormon, or member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was taught these things my whole life and haven't really known anything different, but I also didn't know if it was true. I just followed what my mom and dad told me. When I was about to leave on a mission for the church and teach the gospel to other people I started to read the Book of Mormon. I read and prayed about the church and about the Book of Mormon. I prayed about Joseph Smith. It was not an immediate answer that came but it was slow and it was reassuring. The spirit of God, or Holy Ghost as we call it, gave me the words in my mind. I was told that I have been taught these things all my life, I already knew them to be true. Those were the words that came into my mind. That is why I am Mormon. From that time forth I have continued to have great experiences with prayer. I have had trials of my own but through prayer I have felt a calm peaceful feeling come over me and I knew that my Heavenly Father loves me and his son loves me also.

How I live my faith

currently I coach my youngest daughter's soccer team, which I do enjoy. I have spent several years with the boy scouts going on camps with them and helping them work on their Eagle projects and other scout projects that have been wonderful and fun to see them do. I currently work with a committee in my church to help train teachers and other instructors in giving instruction to the members of the church. I also help in other aspects of training and teaching other members of the church in my area to help them know and understand their responsibilities better and how they can improve. I am also given opportunities to stand before the congregation and give speeches and instruct the congregation and share my testimony and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.
