Hi I'm John

I won state championships for drum line, choir, and baseball. I'm a semi-professional yo-yo enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there! I'm just an average Joe from Provo, Utah. I'm interested in Photography because it helps me see things a little more how God sees them. I focus mainly of "macro" photography. This is the very close up shots of flowers, textures, and so forth. When I look through the lens, I think how oblivious we are to the beauty that it right in front of us. This is also a metaphor for the mercies and blessings from God, sometimes we are too oblivious to realize them! After my mission I plan to attend BYU in Provo, Utah. I want to study computer animation and design because of a career day presentation I saw at my High School in my sophomore year.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me direction in my life; there's always something to look forward too if not only the great mercies that the Lord will pour on my if I live righteously. It gives me hope in a better tomorrow. I think this applies to Ether 12:4- "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."

How I live my faith

I have held many positions in my ward. From president of my age group, to the chorister for our church choir, I've loved each one. These leadership positions have really showed me how important it is to have Christ-like love. Only the Saviour knows us perfectly and we can show our love for Him by loving those around us.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

John
As "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" says, the family is central to God's plan. It also holds a lot of support. I know that if I didn't have my family I would find it hard to keep a lot of God's commandments. Also, a family is just good for having fun! I can't count the memories that we've shared over the years. The odd comment, the crazy vacations, the time spent helping someone recover from illness. I love my family and am so happy that I can spend eternity with them! Show more Show less
