Hi I'm Dakota

I'm a farm girl, a student, and a soon to be missionary. And I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love the outdoors. I enjoy horseback riding, camping, hiking, and hanging out on our family farm. I also enjoy knitting, crocheting, and card making. I love spending time with my family, playing games and spending time together. I am the oldest of four children. I have just completed my fourth semester of college. I am going into occupational/recreational therapy. I hope to set up my own equine assisted therapy center one day. But I have put all of that on hold for now as I am preparing to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the California Riverside mission, where I will be serving the Lord for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Lord has restored his gospel back on this earth through the prophet Joseph Smith Jr. I know that there is a true and living prophet on the earth today just as there was in the times of the Bible. I know that the Lord speaks to those prophets. I know that the Lord has provided a way to speak to us through the gift of the Holy Ghost and personal revelation. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that as we search the scriptures and pray diligently, the Lord will answer our prayers. I know that through our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of our sins. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know us personally, and they will never forget us in our time of need. I know that they love each and every one of us. Christ not only suffered for our sins, but also suffered that he might know of our pain and suffering. He knows what we are going through and he will never leave us alone. I know this from personal experience. As we turn to the Lord, he will comfort us and guide us in the right direction. I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father. I am very grateful to be a member of this church and for the opportunity that I have to share the gospel and the happiness it brings to me with others. Again, I know that this gospel is true and that our Savior and Heavenly Father love us. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I am a primary teacher (I teach some of the children at church), and enjoy teaching the children, as well as learning myself, the things that Christ has taught us. I believe, however, in doing more than just living your faith only at church on Sundays. I feel that it is something we must do everyday. I try to live my faith daily, by serving others and being an example of Christ's love for others. I pray daily as well as read the scriptures and I strive to live by the commandments that the Lord has given us. I know that as I do this, there will be many great blessings that will follow.
