Hi I'm Angel Starr Cost

My name is Angel and I am a mormon!

About Me

My name is Angel, I am a recent convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up in a family of inactive members, and I knew nothing of the church as a child. I had some life experiences that were able to humble me to the point of a broken heart and a contrite spirit where I was then able to turn to my father in heaven and not only ask him for help, but to ask him for guidance as well. The Lord heard my heartfelt and ever so sincere prayer and he lead me to this church, where I was baptized into approximately four months after investigating and of which I have been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to share its eternal blessings with others!

Why I am a Mormon

As mentioned above, life before my conversion was very hard...I had a lot of dysfunction in my life and there always seemed to be something missing. My parents weren't apart of my life that much growing up, so I stood alone in all I did, along with raising my three younger sisters. I always wondered why was my life the way it was, and if there was this God that everyone spoke of, where was he when I needed him most? You cannot expect God to just come to you and take your load from you. You have to call upon him for help, you need to let him know that his assistance would be greatly appreciated. He is all knowing, so he knew I needed him, but I was always too head strong to ask for help. Trials I faced in life were able to break me down just enough to the point of humbleness where my heart was broken and my spirit was contrite. And in that time i called upon the Lord and I said, "God....if there even is a God, HELP ME!! I can not do this on my own. Guide me and lead me to where you want me to be. Please God, I need you, I am not strong enough to do this on my own." It wasn't but a short time later I began to realize he heard my plea for help and he was coming to the rescue. He wanted me to find what I had been missing in my life, what was going to give me that comfort and love I needed so dearly. He wanted me to find happiness, and he rejoiced in me trying to find my way back to him. My conversion is a miracle, before it even came to that point he sent someone amazing into my life to open my eyes to the Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. He sent this person into my life to break down the walls I had built so high around my heart and to reveal what I had been trying to keep safe behind a thick "brick" wall. The wall was crumbled little by little with each amazing testimony born to me of this person. They were able to break down the wall so I could let the Lord in! And here I am today, stronger than ever and ready to help others find the happiness I did!

How I live my faith

As a recent convert I haven't had too many callings yet, I think my very greatest was being able to go to girls camp as an assistant camp director with the young women and leaders of the church. It was a very spiritual experience for me and I was able to grow and learn so much, not only did I grow and learn, but the young women did as well! I developed some very strong friendships with the girls I was able to serve while at camp. I was able to leave an everlasting impression in their hearts with my strong testimony of this restored gospel and it's endless blessings. I am also very passionate about sharing my testimony with those around me in hopes it will make an impact in their lives. I have born my testimony in 7 different wards now I believe, and each time there is at least one person who is moved by the things I testify of. I was blessed with yet another very wonderful opportunity in this church and that was to speak in my stake conference about 8 or so months ago. I was able to share with the members of my stake my story of conversion and touch the lives of many who attended. Out of that lovely experience I too made more friendships that are sure to last an eternity. I have a strong testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and his restored Gospel, and I love to share that with as many as I am able to!
