Hi I'm Jackie

I am the youngest of seven kids. I am a double music major. I am a fanatic of all things Disney. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the last child in my family of 7 kids. I grew up in a home that consistently had us supporting each other (although with seven, there is always some chaos happening somewhere). I attended two semesters of college and I am studying to become a choir teacher, but I am also getting a second major in composition. My family was always musical so I have had that my whole life. My high school life was no different, I had many music classes but I still wanted to serve. So after I went to a leadership camp, I started the Interact Club at my high school to serve the community and do some global projects. I also participated in the school's annual charity drive to raise as much as we could. It was so comforting to know that I would make a difference in someone's life, even if I would never meet them. I also was on the tennis team at my high school and was very set on pursuing sports as a profession until my mom pointed out that I loved music so much. As I said in the beginning, I am a total Disney fanatic. This is true. I know facts about Disney that most people wouldn't know. I am kinda obsessed with all things Disney and have been since I was little. In fact, when I was little, I told people I wanted to live in Orlando, Florida so I could go to Disney World all the time. And I still stand by that today.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me so much strength and has given me so much hope for the future. This church means the world to me. I love it with all my heart. My whole life turned around because of it. I also know that it is true. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. This church has given me comfort in knowing that I will see my family again after this life. It has given me knowledge and truth. I know this life is hard, but I have learned that Christ can make our burdens lighter; through Him, we can feel of that love He has for us. He can help us feel no more guilt and no more sorrow, but instead, feel joy and happiness. I know it's true. "I'm a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it."

How I live my faith

I continually try to live as Christ would. That is hard, but I find that meeting people and loving people is so much easier when I do so. This life is hard, but when things get tough, I look at it as an opportunity to try to become more like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It can either diminish or strengthen our relationship with Him. It is our choice. I know we can become stronger through God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I make mistakes as everyone does, but through them, I can live a happier, and more peaceful life. They can help me in all my trials and afflictions.
