Hi I'm Eric

I live in Northern Virginia. I am a husband and Father. I like to run and play basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a software developer, but I try to not use too much technology away from work. I don't watch a lot of TV or play video games very often. I like to do wood working, especially scroll saw projects. I do a lot of projects around the house. I like to run and play basketball to get exercise. I am a husband and father. We like to spend time together and do lots of activities together on the weekends like going to museums. I am also tall. That is usually the first thing people notice about me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this church. My parents always attended their weekly meetings and we read the scriptures and prayed together as a family each day at home. As I grew up I was taught to pray and read the scriptures on my own. As I did that, I gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of this church through the feelings I had. There have been times in my life when my beliefs have been tested and questioned, and through those my faith has grown as I try to follow the Saviors example and live his teachings. Doing this makes me happy. Now that I am an adult and have a family of my own, I am doing my best to teach my kids about the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they can develop their own testimony of its truthfulness, and experience this joy for themselves.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each week and participating in my classes. I try to come prepared, having read the lesson in advance so I can make comments about it during the discussion in Sunday School or other classes. I even get to teach a class on some Sundays. My wife recently has been asked to work with the youth, so I get to help by taking care of our kids on evenings when she is at their activities. I don't just live my faith on Sundays. I try to be honest and positive in all my dealings with others, especially at work. I try to always have a positive attitude and avoid build others up. I find that in the world today it seem to be popular to use negativity as a substitute for humor. I try to avoid this and instead focus on the positive. When I see a need , I try to help out where I can, and if people ever have question about my religion I try to answer them to the best of my ability.
