Hi I'm Sharon Lynch

I was born in Scotland and emigrated to Canada with my family when I was 13. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single person who loves to read and travel... I studied biochemistry and food and nutrition at university. I love to learn. I work for a global company and love what I do and the people with whom I work. I have 10 nieces and nephews whom I love dearly. I have lived in a few different countries and each has a special place in my heart. I love spending time with family and friends but also enjoy solitude and time to ponder on the great gifts I have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 12 years old and have never looked back or changed my mind about that decision. I read the Book of Mormon then and found out for my self by study and prayer that it is true. I continue to read and study the Bible and the Book of Mormon and continue to learn how great and good and merciful God is to His children. I am a Mormon because I find hope and peace and safety in the principles and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I continue to learn and to grow and gain an understanding of who I am and where I came from and where I am going. I know that I am a child of God and I know that there is a purpose to this life... It is no accident that I am on the earth. Each day, as I try to live my faith, I can feel the love that God has for me and for all of his children. I am learning to see each person I meet as someone who is also a child of God and that we are all brothers and sisters with great parents, Heavenly parents. The gospel is joyful, it teaches that we can live together with our families once this life is over. Yes, we have to work hard and be obedient to God's commandments to obtain this blessing but to me anything worth having requires some effort to obtain. I know that God lives and I know that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and I know that all effort to do what is right is rewarded. I have found truth in the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ that I did not seem to find anywhere else, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In the past, I have worked with the youth and children of our church, teaching them about faith and hope and the scriptures and living a good life. I went to Germany on a mission to teach the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned to love the people of that country and learned so much from them. I now work with the women of the church, once again teaching them and myself how to be better Christians by loving one another and serving one another and increasing our faith in Jesus Christ. Each month I have the privilege of visiting some of these fine women in their homes, sharing a spiritual message and building friendships and offering small acts of service to help them and let them know that they are of great value to me and to our Heavenly Father. I have participated in community outreach programs with a woman's shelter in our area. I also participate in programs with women of other faiths in our community and have been blessed to see what great things can be done when we all come together with a single purpose.
