Hi I'm Carlos E Plazas

I'm originally COLOMBIAN but I have been living in the United States the last 23 years of my life, and I'm proud to be call Mormon

About Me

I Love to travel with my family and I have been lucky enough to go to many different places and countries of this wonderful world. I enjoy living different cultures and discovering the many creations of our generous Heavenly Father. With my wife we are almost empty nesters with one grand-daughter and recently announced a second grand child who will join us on April 2015. Having a Latin background is needless to say I enjoy dancing "old Salsa" and sharing time enjoying authentic food with the family around the dinner table. I inherited from my sister a really good collection of stamps and I love to add stamps of the places I visit to such collection that as today have a considerable variety and quantity.

Why I am a Mormon

For the inspiration I get, for the spirituals experiences I had live, for the miracles in my life and the life of others I had witness, and again, specially for the opportunity to have a personal and intimate relationship with my Savior and Creator, I'm Mormon, and I try to live it's precepts. For the opportunity I have of really understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the miracle of His forgiveness I'm a Mormon, because with all my imperfections I have no other choice that try my best to partake of Jesus's sacrifice. I love my faith, I'm grateful for it, and I attribute my modest success in this life to it. I know true happiness comes from living in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ. I know my faith represent true Christian values and look for the happiness and success of our intimidate family, and also of the universal family to which we all belong and as sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I enjoy the personal relationship my faith allows me to have with my Savior and Creator. I specially appreciate the power, self confidence and straight that it comes from trying to live our lives according the commitments of the the Lord. I also love the many and constant opportunities of service we have within the church, the fact that we are all called to different positions that change after some time, allow us not only to serve many different people, but also to develop many different skills. I realize I have many weakness and abilities to develop, but the realization that I'm a child of God encourage me to constantly review the areas where I do need to develop, and is my faith and the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that not only encourage me to develop my talents, but also is my Faith and it's teachings that support me during tribulations, challenges and experiences that without the eternal perspective of the Gospel will be really hard to face. At this point in time, thanks to the position in which I'm serving, and living in Utah as well, I'm a direct witness of the concern of the Church for the Hispanic Community in Utah and the Unites States in general. The many programs that are being design to promote the spiritual, financial and intellectual development of my Hispanic brothers and sisters are truly inspired and the direct result of what James call in the New Testament the "true religion of Christ".
