Hi I'm Shayla

I have grown up in Utah to a loving family. I love my family and my God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports of all types and I love to go to the college games. I love to hike and be in the outdoors. It helps me feel close to my Savior. I love to learn. I read a lot and I love my studies of the Gospel and all else. I also love to bake/cook and sew. I am attending college and am yet unsure what I am studying.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a lucky person to be born into this gospel. I guess there is a part of my soul that has always known that it is right, but I also know that I could not live on my parent's belief alone. When I was 12 I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. Then I did what Moroni challenges at the end of the book, I asked God. I got my witness and I have been developing a closer relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior ever since. It is because of this witness that I have chosen to serve a mission for my God. He has asked it of me and I will happily do it. I would not be devoting 18 months of my life if that was not the case. I would not give up everything if the Book of Mormon wasn't true, but it is so I will happily go because I know that the words in the book of Philippians are true. "I can do all tings through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13). I know that my Savior lives. He not only died for me, but he bled from every poor so that I might live with him again. He knows me perfectly. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that a Prophet still lives and acts on the earth today. I know that the temple is the house of God and that all of the ordinances performed in that sacred building are essential for my eternal salvation. This is God's true church. He loves all of His children, and He loves me. He has never left and never will.

How I live my faith

I have been a class president in my class and I will be serving a mission to serve the people in the land I have been called to.
