Hi I'm Dan Wyson

I'm a Certified Financial Planner, a private pilot and I love good books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For as far back as I can remember, every birthday and Christmas present I ever asked for was an airplane. I was one of those kids who would stop whatever he was doing and look up anytime a plane flew by. In fact, I am still one of those kids. I just love to fly. When my dear wife gave me flying lessons for my birthday, it was one of the happiest days of my life. Little did she know how much it would change hers. I suppose one reason I love flying so much is because of my natural love for freedom. Few activities in life bring more freedom than hopping in your own plane and going anywhere you want, almost without restriction and without having to ask anyone's permission. I often look down from high above the earth and think, "King Solomon in all his glory would have given everything he had to do what I am doing right now." I have been so blessed. I am the father of a large family and love spending time with my wife and children. Our favorite activities usually involve either going to the beach or up in the mountains, both of which help us escape the very hot summers in our home town.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was the son of Polish immigrants whose parents both died when he was five years old. He was raised for the next eight years of his life in a Detroit orphanage under very difficult conditions. As a seeker of truth himself he had a great desire to know God's plan for him, so upon leaving the orphanage he began an intensive search for the Lord's church. His quest took him many years and to religions too countless to mention. Eventually he was drawn to the Mormon church by a friend and after reading everything he could find on the church, and attending its meetings for many months, he determined that its teachings were true. He confirmed his decision through prayer and joined the church. I was the third of eleven children in my family and was always very close to my father. We spent long hours discussing philosophy and religion while others my age were out playing ball. During those long conversations over many years I came to my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I always had a very close relationship with my Father in Heaven as well. Along with my earthly father, He truly was my best friend. I knew the power of prayer and used it often for problems big and small throughout my life. I can truly say that i know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's church, because I know the Lord.

How I live my faith

At the age of 19 I served a mission for my church to northern Italy. I deeply enjoyed visiting with the good people of Italy about their religion and beliefs. It is my deep desire to return to Italy one day and serve again among those wonderful people. I have served in many capacities in my church and the community but for the most part I consider myself a teacher. I love to learn truth and I love to share it. I have always believed that truth is found everywhere, it can stand on its own and will always eventually prevail. For this reason I love the scriptures and am particularly drawn to the first five books of the New Testament. The teachings of the Savior are so profound and each time I read His words I find more treasures.
