Hi I'm Hollyann Whearley

I grew up in Utah. My passion is music and photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Hollyann, Holly for short. My heart and soul, becoming my passion, is into music and photography. Since I was a little girl, music has helped me through rough times. Clearing my head. Photography jump starts my imagination for creativity. I love capturing the beauties of the world around me and I think to myself just how amazing nature was created here. Life holds many secrets, and through music and photography, I've understood a little more of the wonders and mysterious our world has to offer. I have been a choir geek since I was 9 years old, I fell in love with it. I like to write stories, short or long. Someday, I will attend college to study in becoming a music teacher. June 19, 2014 - I was called to be a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving 18 months in Cleveland Ohio Mission. I am currently serving and I just love everything about it! There is nothing better than becoming/being a missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith. Both my parents being converts to the church. I was 18 before I read the "Book of Mormon" for the first time. When the age change of sister missionaries moved from 21 years of age, to 19. I was overjoyed. For years I had always said to my parents, "I want to serve a mission." But there was always a chance I could of been engaged or married before I was even 21. When the age change happened, it was real for me. I started up my papers that following September to get a head start. I opened the "Book of Mormon" and I read through it all in under a week. I prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him, "Is the 'Book of Mormon' true?" I felt a warmth and peace fall upon me and that's when I really knew, that the book was true. I know the "Book of Mormon" is true. That Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God that restored the gospel to the earth so many years ago. I know and believe in my heart we have a living prophet today. The gospel has been such a blessing in my life. I had chosen for myself to continue to follow His gospel, not because of my family, but for myself. I know my Heavenly Father loves me, he listens to me, and wants whats best for me. I know that by following his commandments and becoming more like his son, Jesus Christ. I will have many blessings in my life that will help me be a better person. To one day return back home to him. I know this church is true with all my heart and soul, and I am forever grateful for its example in my life. I say in the name of my Savior and redeemer, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I love my ward. For awhile, I was called to be a special aid helper for this lovely little girl. She was so bright and bubbly and always had a smile on her face. She would sing the loudest, always want to help with activities, and always said "Hi!" to anyone that passed her way. It was such a humbling experience, one I will never forget. Her light and spirit was so strong, you couldn't help but just have a huge grin on your face every time you saw her. Lately now I have been the photographer for special events with the sisters of the ward. Events being mother/daughter dinners. I enjoy capturing the life and fun the sisters and young woman have together, as well as the fun activities they get to do! I am a visiting teacher, alongside my mother for two sisters in my ward. I love the feeling and opportunity to go and see them each month and to talk about previous talks or meetings we have in our church. I love the spirit that surrounds us as we share with each other what's in our hearts. I in return love my visiting teachers that come to see me. They are so dear to me, and hold a special place in my heart.
