Hi I'm Steph

I grew up in Canada. I love to travel and experience new cultures. I'm currently serving a mission in Slovakia and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Montreal, Canada, with my parents and my younger brother. I love being a university student and I'm currently in the middle of completing a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Elementary Education. Because I was blessed with many opportunities to travel around the world in my youth, I quickly realized that there were many different ways to find happiness in life. I was raised Catholic but was always searching for something that resonated more personally with the way I wanted to live my life. Two years ago, while completing a service project in Thailand, I found out about the Church and immediately felt compelled to learn more. I was baptized six months later, in February of 2013. Since then, every aspect of my life has changed for the better. Currently, I am serving a mission in Slovakia and I've never been happier.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ motivates me to better myself each day and allows me to feel pure joy and happiness. Because I am a convert, I know what it is like to live life without a consistent source of light to guide you. I know, from personal experience, the difference that the Gospel can make in someone's life. I know that God is aware of each of us. I am so grateful that He found me on the opposite side of the world. There is nothing about my conversion that wasn't perfectly and divinely orchestrated. Although it wasn't always an easy transition and it required some sacrifice and adjusting, I can honestly say that I am happier now than I ever have been before.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every single day. In everything that I do, I try to always remember to follow the Savior's perfect example for us. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I love being able to partake of the sacrament and learn new things. In my short church life, I have been able to serve in wonderful callings which have taught me so much. In my YSA branch, I was called as a branch missionary and as a Sunday school teacher. When I am at school, I serve as the YSA female rep. These callings have taught me how to love and serve others diligently in order to bring them closer to Christ. Currently, my calling is that of full-time missionary in the labor of love to the people of Slovakia. Although sometimes challenging, I know that this calling will be instrumental in my own continual conversion, as well as the conversion of others.
