Hi I'm Valerie

" I play the acoustic guitar. I like helping others. I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I was born in Mexico. I came to the United States when I was 14 or 15 years old. I started taking College classes when I was 16 years old. Science is my passion, I enjoy studying about Biology, Anatomy, and other classes. I appreciate that God gave me the opportunity to attend College when I offered him a humble prayer. I was able to help people at the Hospital and Nursing Homes. God is merciful and he listens to our prayers.

Why I am a Mormon

Mormon is just a nickname but I am Christian because I believe Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and he gave us the opportunity to become better each day. Because of his example, we can strive to become like him and to obtain Christlike attributes to help each other. The reason I chose to become a Mormon was because a young man called Joseph Smith said a prayer and he received an answer that there was a necessity for a Restoration. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon with the power and revelation of God. The Book of Mormon are ancient scriptures written by ancient prophets in the Americas. I invite you to read the Book of Mormon and to ask God with a sincere heart if this Book is true and he will manifest the truth to you through the Holy Ghost like He did to me.

How I live my faith

God is my highest priority in my life. I used to attend the Church ward for young adults. I really like that every member helps each other to strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. We also do activities every Monday at Church like playing basketball to stay in a good environment. We also have Bible study every Tuesday I am able to feel the Holy Spirit during the lessons. I enjoy going to Church to remember our Savior Jesus Christ. I had an assignment where we were asked to help others and to provide service for the members.

What is the difference between attending a church and attending a temple?

When we attend an Lds church we have the opportunity to partake of the Sacrament, in other ways, we drink of the water, and we eat the bread in remembrance of the sacrifice of our Savior on Earth. God is our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is our Eternal Brother because he protected of all of us and He loves us. We also attend other classes after Sacrament where we can become better wives, sisters, and mothers. On the other hand, there are lessons for men where they can become better husbands, brothers, and fathers. When we are worthy and prepared to understand some mysteries of God. We can have the opportunity to attend the Temple to do sacred ordinances or promises with God. Those promises are for example to get married forever with our spouse with the proper authority from God. We also have the opportunity to do temple work for our ancestors that didn't have the opportunity to get baptized. Show more Show less
