Hi I'm Cheyenne Westwood

I grew up in the church, lived in Utah my whole life. I love being able to help other people when needed and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member my whole life, grew up in the church and have lived in Utah my whole life. I love being able to help people out with anything that they need and love meeting new people and developing friendships. I am in college, working on a degree for something in Psychology or Social Work. I love music, I can't play any instruments but I love the piano and have always loved listening to it and hope to be able to play it one day.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church, it was always assumed that I would forever be a member of His church, even by me. Like most kids that grow up in the church, the teenage years are the make it or break it time. This is when you have to really decide if you believe what you have grown up in or not. For me, it was never a question until I was coming close to the missionary age of 19. I knew the church was true, I knew it without a doubt but something always held me back from serving a mission; it's not required for girls to serve missions, so I personally didn't want to. At a point in my life when nothing else was working out for me, I decided it was time for me to serve a mission and I cannot believe that blessings that I have seen in my life since that day that I decided. The Lord's hand is and always has been constantly in my life and I have never been so sure of it as I am now. This was my true conversion point and the joy and happiness that I have felt since is unlike any other. This church truly is the church of happiness; The Lord's plan is one of happiness and everlasting joy and I will never doubt that!

How I live my faith

Being a full-time college student with 2 part time jobs it makes it difficult to participate in all of the activities that my ward puts on. When I am able to, I make sure to attend all activities that I can, and fulfill my church callings no matter the circumstance, because that will bring me, and those I am serving blessings from our loving Heavenly Father.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Cheyenne Westwood
At a certain age, all members of the church are allowed to enter the temple to participate in sacred ordinances for the dead. All visitors, member or not, are allowed to visit the grounds and visitors center. Inside the temple, the ordinances that take place are incredibly sacred, therefore we are not able to discuss much about them outside of the temple. However, the joy and the amazing feeling of love and happiness that is felt inside the temple is incomparable to anything I have ever felt in my entire life. The temple offers me a chance to escape the craziness of the outside world and enjoy peace and sometime receive answers to my prayers. The temple is absolutely amazing and I wish that everyone could experience the amazing feeling that is felt when attending the temple. Show more Show less
