Hi I'm Spencer

I love to read and make art. I love to ski. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name's Spencer. I grew up in Orem, Utah and I am fortunate enough to have had the chance to travel to several different countries. I love to see other countries and how they function and I especially love to see the people who live in them. When I have the time I love to ski on the beautiful mountains that surround Utah valley, read any kind of book, draw or make jewelry or ceramics, or exercise (especially running and weight lifting). I will be attending BYU-Provo when I get back from my 24 month mission to Chile Antofagasta. I will always love all of my family (both temporal and spiritual) and I am excited to serve the people of Chile.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS Church, but I have taken a lot of time to study the scriptures and pray about the Book of Mormon and have come to the conclusion that God is there. He loves us all and he wants us back with him. He will give, and has given, us so many chances to return to him because he truly cares for each one of us individually. I have given up for the next 2 years a girl that I love, an education at a fine institution, and my family so that I can serve the Lord in the way He wants me to. I know that there are missionaries out there who have given up much more and I believe that every missionary sacrifices something to the Lord so they can serve a mission. My conversion to this Church didn't happen over night. It took hours upon my knees, days of fasting, studying and pondering the scriptures, and most of all following the Lord's invitations without knowledge so that greater light could be shed upon my mind. We all have to blindly follow Christ for a bit before He can lead us out into the light.

How I live my faith

I have helped to set up and run a triathlon for the past several years and all of the proceeds from the triathlon go to helping the homeless or providing quality dental care to those who can't afford it. I have been a leader for several different groups of young men and I have tried my best to make them the best they can be. I will serve a mission in Chile for 2 years and I hope to make the world a better place through sharing my faith and hope in Christ.
