Hi I'm Michelle

I love shaved ice. I love studying government and politics. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I sing, I love the desert heat, I think spending time with my family is the funnest thing on planet earth! From family card games, to intense wiffle ball championships, my family somehow is able to make everything fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church, but I know for a surety that it is God's true church restored upon the earth. I was raised in a good family that chose to follow Christ's teachings. Having charity, serving, and loving unconditionally were things my family chose to do. I went to church weekly, read the scriptures with my family, and also said prayers daily-both with my family and on my own. I never doubted the goodness and truth that this gospel has. When I was a freshman in high school, I decided that I wanted to know for myself that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith really was a prophet who restored Christ's church again on the earth. After reading my scriptures personally and praying, a feeling in my heart and mind confirmed the truth that I had learned all growing up. That confirmation wasn't a concourse of angels, nor was it a large event, but it was a small feeling that warmed my heart and helped me feel peace. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints truly is Christ's church here on earth today. Joseph Smith was directed, like prophets of old, to restore the church again to the earth. We are guided today by a prophet: Thomas S. Monson. Temples are holy places where we can make covenants with God and to be sealed to our families eternally! I know I can be with my wonderful family forever. I know that Christ suffered so that we don't have to if we accept his atonement and repent. He provided a way for us to return to Him and Heavenly Father and with our families. This gospel brings joy. This gospel brings peace.

How I live my faith

Although I just graduated from high school a year ago, I have been actively involved in church. From ages 12 through 18, I participated in activities and service projects with other youth from my church. Doing service so early in my life has helped me realize how important it is to help others. This past summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to serve a 3 month mission in Nauvoo, Illinois (a Mormon historical town) where our purpose was to share Christ's gospel through music and performance. Singing and using my talents to uplift others is one way I can serve others. In just a few weeks I will go out and serve an 18-month mission! Helping others is something that is really important to me and is something I will continue to do for the rest of my life.
