Hi I'm Chantal

I am a Mormon. I am a new widow since Feb of this year.

About Me

I am a new widow since Feb 20214. I have two special needs adult daughters( hard of hearing and legally blind). that live with me. I am French and Native American. I am the descendant granddaughter to Chief Tecumseh and Chief SItting Bull. I love animals. My neighbors has nicknamed my property here in the country as Noah's Ark.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was dating my late husband he gave me his dog tags (which I know wear) and the religion stated LDS. I asked my mother what that meant. She said, "Oh my God, he's Mormon. Latter Day Saint. I had never heard of that before. The next day I went to the library and read up about the religion. Thhe next night on the date I asked him how many wives he had. He laughed so hard then gave me an introduction about Mormons. We were married a few months later. When he took me to church, when I walked through the chapel doors I felt the Spirit so strong. Never felt that being Catholic. I fell in love with the Ward and LDS religion. I was baptized by his Uncle Will one month later. I have been a member since 1971. Never regretted it for one moment. It blends well with me being a Shaman. I was trained by my Native American Grandfather. Now on both sides everyone is gone, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts. I have a couple half sisters left and we are not close. I was devistated when Ben died. But I am a survivor. I have my daughters and animals, and my faith in Heavenly Father that I know takes care of me. If he called Ben home it was for a good reason. I can not imagine being anything other than a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am new to my ward. So I am trying to get to know the new members. They have been helping me around the 2 acres here. I had the Aerobic septic tank stop working, and then the hot water tank go. I am learning so much from this wonderful ward esp spiritually. Just wonderful members. I am truely blessed! For the next few months I am going to paint the outside of my house. I am painting the base color white , shutters red, trim navy blue with white stars. After it all is dry I am going to buy some glow in the dark paint and paint a sign of the cross on the front of the house.

What is being a Mormon like?

Chantal
It is the greatest spiritual feeling you ever can imagine. It is like being wrapped in God's loving arms knowing he is always there and will protect you. I was converted from Catholic. I have had many spiritual visitations since I have joined. Many since my husbands passing Feb 2014. I can not imagine, nor do I ever want to leave God's church of The Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We were all born for a purpose. Through my membership in the LDS church I have learned what those purposes were. Show more Show less
