Hi I'm Marcy

I am a Brazilian, a journalist, a first time mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college in 2010 and have worked as a journalist since then. I loved going to college, it opened my mind to a whole new world of ideas and possibilities. Got married and am now going through the experience of being a mom. Our little boy requires much time and attention, but he compensates all that with his smile and laughter. Among other things I have been practicing the piano and reading good books. Also trying to get better at cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the church at the age of 17. Why? Two missionaries looked me in the eyes and with a smile invited me to read some pages of the Book of Mormon and honestly pray to know if the book was true, if it were given by God. Without even considering doing it I said Yes to them. I did that and now I know it is true. Right after getting baptized I had many other experiences that testified to me that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet and most of all that Jesus is our Savior. I know who I am now and where I am going, that has made all the difference.

How I live my faith

I begin living my faith at home. Every day I study inspired scriptures such as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I also try to search for my ancestors and find out in some way how they have showed faith in their lives. At church most of my experience has been with the youth. In 2012 I helped program a youth camp and art festivals such as a music contest and a film and theater festival. I really love the youth, specially teaching ans learning with the young women of the church. I hope to have many more oportunities to serve. Serve not only church members, but my community as well. I have done that in the past and I know how much everyone benefits from voluntary service, specially those who work in behalf of others.
