Hi I'm Connie

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know this church is true without any shadows of doubts.

About Me

I grew up with my grandmother beside me. Mom and dad were not married but life seems to be fine though I don't have a complete family. I have 5 half-sisters; 1 from my mom and 4 from my dad and I treat them and love them like we all have the same parents. I was baptized in 2008. I was 11 years old that time and I continue in the church until today and have no regrets. Reading the scriptures and other good books, listening to good music, playing the piano, cleaning the house, doing DIY stuffs and writing are just few of my hobbies. I love drawing something into my mind too especially when I'm alone. I attended seminary and now attending institute. These motivate me a lot. I love every church activity. It makes me happy and mature spiritually. I am applying for a full-time mission and I am happy to serve Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and fulfill the tasks they have given to me.

Why I am a Mormon

It was in the first week of April in 2008 when I asked my grandmother if I could stay in my aunt's house in the city for 2 months. I couldn't remember the reason why I wanted to stay there. It was just a sudden decision. So, my grandmother permitted me and I then packed my things and went to the city. They were very happy because they didn't see me quite a long time. One afternoon when I was sweeping I saw my uncle talking to two people. I didn't see their faces because they were outside the gate but I know they were men because of their black shoes. I didn't bother myself about these men but I felt something inside me that I couldn't explain. On the evening of April 8, 2008 I was busy playing with my cousins when we heard voices outside. We knew that daddy (uncle) was one of them. He then told me to bring a chair to him. When I opened the door to give the chair, I saw two men wearing white shirt and a name tag. They said "Hi Sister Connie! Maayong gabie." (Hi Sister Connie! Good evening.) with smiles on their faces. I was shy and wondered why they knew my name. Then daddy introduced me to them. I then asked myself that perhaps they were those men I saw when I was sweeping. They introduced their selves to me and shared the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. From that time, I enjoyed listening to them sharing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized after a month. We became close friends and they continued to visit me often. After my baptism I then came to know the reason why I wanted to stay in my aunt's house. I know that it was the plan of Heavenly Father. After 3 months my grandmother and two of my cousins were baptized. I testify that The Book of Mormon is true. I have read it and pondered about it. Because of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ I came to know my purpose as His daughter. I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on earth; and I'm sure of that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by feasting upon the words of Christ. The four standard books in the church (The Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price) have been a greater help to me to live my faith. By studying the scriptures daily, praying, and pondering, I learned so many things that inspire me to be always obedient to the Lord. Not only the four standard books but also other church materials. Every time I read the scriptures everyday I always feel that I am guided. I live my faith by remembering my covenants. Whenever I get into temptation I immediately ask help from the Lord. I live my faith by living the standards in the church. For me the Lord's standards will always be the best that everyone must follow. It makes me comfortable, happy and to have peace of mind. I live my faith by serving other people. I work with the full-time missionaries in hastening the Lord's work of salvation. As a member missionary, it is one of my duties. To me, doing missionary work is one way of showing your love to God. I was also a Church-Service missionary under Family History. Being a Church-Service missionary in the Family History organization motivates me to always help my dead ancestors. I live my faith by going to the temple and do a sacred ordinance inside. The temple is the best place that I can consider as a heaven on earth. There, I can feel the companionship of the Holy Ghost. Everything seems to be fine upon entering its doors. By doing family history I help my dead ancestors to receive the love of God and have a chance to go back to His presence. I know that the sacred ordinances done therein are true. I love to go to the temple and I am excited for my own endowment this year. I live my faith by sharing my testimony. By doing so I can inspire others to come unto Christ. I know that everyone of us can build our own testimonies in many ways, all we have to do is to let Him in.
