Hi I'm Jim Burgess

I'm a retired Corrections Officer from Orange County Florida, and I'm a MORMON

About Me

I retired from Orange County Corrections in Orlando, Fl. in 1997. I moved to Blairsville, Ga. in Nov. 1997. I am now retired completely and I work in my yard or my woodwork shop when I want. I am active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as the Branch President of the Blairsville Branch of the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 1976, and have been active ever since. I try to read the scriptures every day and I have personal prayer every day with my heavenly Father. I have learned that when I do these things, it brings me great peace of mind. I know that that the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, has been truly called by God as the Prophet of the church in these latter days, that he is at the head of the church on earth and that he receives his direction from Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

How I live my faith

As the Branch President of the Blairsville Branch of the Church I attend many meetings. I preside over most and Conduct many of them. I travel with Missionaries when I can, but I set aside every other Thursday night to go out with them to dinner and visit whoever they want to visit.
