Hi I'm Brittney

I love singing, teaching piano, riding ripsticks, and hiking with my family! Music is my forte! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student who has finished their first year. I LOVE singing. Whether I be alone, with my friends, in a choir, or just my steering wheel, singing is what I love to do. One of my aspirations is to be a choir teacher. In the past, I have played basketball, the clarinet, and currently still play the piano. I was involved with my high school marching band, National Honors Society, and choir programs, and enjoyed serving as Drum Major and President for those. I have lived in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. I think that snow is awesome! Since it doesn't snow much in southern Nevada, my family and I enjoy travelling to visit other family, playing outside on bikes, ripstiks, spark-riders, and our feet! I find joy in sharing tender moments with people who are close to me, laughing at random jokes, and watching "I Love Lucy" shows!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up Mormon, but now that I have experienced many different things, I can say that I am a Mormon because I want to be. I know that this gospel is for the benefit of not only me, but everyone, all over the world. I know that Christ suffered for all of our pains and afflictions and sins, and because of that, He can offer us relief from our deepest struggles. He has helped me through mine, so I know it can help others. It can offer comfort and assurance, peace and joy. I read my scriptures daily, and pray at least morning and night so I can have the strength to be His servant.

How I live my faith

This church gives me great opportunities to serve and show kindess to other people. Another thing that our church emphasizes is the importance of families. I love my family- we are extremely close. Spending wholesome time with them provide me some of the greatest memories and examples to follow. I have read the Book of Mormon many times, and enjoy reading it still. My family and I try our best to read scriptures and have family prayer every morning whether it be a school (and before early-morning seminary) or a summer morning. Another thing I love about being in a family is that we are able to have FHE, or Family Home Evening. Every Monday night, we gather to sing, learn, and share talents, thoughts, and laughter together. I had a unique experience of being able to direct girls ages 12-18 at a girl's camp for a couple of years. It is a time-consuming effort, but like most great things, it is so worth it in the end. I enjoy listening to uplifting music- it lifts my spirit and makes me want to smile and sing along.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Brittney
No, missions are not required. Missionaries young and old are volunteering their time, talents, and energy for the building and strengthening of the Church. They (missionaries) are called to serve wherever the Church calls them. Show more Show less
