Hi I'm Leslie

I've lived in Utah my whole life. I was recently called to serve in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro Mission.

About Me

I play the flute. In my opinion it is the best instrument ever! I am also an aspiring author. I hope to someday publish one of my books. Writing is awesome. Along with that I also love to read. Books are the most amazing ways to explore. I sketch a little, mostly cartoons and anime. I am a HUGE nerd. Star Trek, Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Chuck, Pokemon, Avatar the Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Firefly, Doctor Who, and Marvel are a few of my favorite nerdy things. I am currently attending college and am working toward a degree in Biology with an Ornithology emphasis. Basically it's a fancy way of saying I love birds and I want to spend the rest of my life studying them. I am sassy, sarcastic, hilarious, and just basically awesome all around. I was just called to serve in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro Mission. I'm so excited! Anyway, that's me and all my weirdness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. My parents and their parents were all mormon. I grew up in an area where Mormonism was the dominant religion. My beliefs have never been critically tested, and I have never really had to stand up for what I believe in. I was still converted to this gospel in my teenage years. I will always remember the moment that I knew the church was true. I decided to try reading The Book of Mormon for the first time. Normally in my past attempts I could only make it through a few verses before I got bored and stopped. This time however when I started reading I found I couldn't stop. I read for about two hours and read the entire first book of Nephi. Every scripture made sense to me, and I felt without a doubt that what I was reading was true. Each story seemed to fill me with a knowledge of truth. Ever since then i have believed in my religion without a doubt. I know that this is the true church and I know that I have a heavenly father.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through my every day actions. I don't have a calling or assignment to teach or serve others, so I do what I can on my own. I try to remain happy and positive, and hope to infect others with those feelings. I read my scriptures daily and when it's appropriate love to share what I've found and learned. I try to be honest and friendly with those around me, and I hope that people are able to remember me after I've left because of my kindness.
