Hi I'm Lynn

I’m a Mormon and it’s cool to be Canadian!

About Me

I love the cultural diversity of living in Canada as it is a direct reflection of my own diverse heritage. I love hiking, photography and canoeing. I love to read and my home is overflowing with books! I love to learn new things. I have done a lot of family history and genealogical research and helped others to do the same. I have five brothers and three sisters and I love being a member of a large family. For many years I have been a teacher at church and nothing is better than sharing insights with eager, seeking students!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church on the face of the earth in these the last days and I know it! I know it in my heart and soul where only I and the Holy Ghost dwell. Everything I have learned and experienced in my life bears testimony to this one truth. The Church of Jesus Christ is once again upon the earth and I have the incredible privilege of being a member of the church. I know that my Father in Heaven lives and loves me His daughter here upon the earth. I know He is providing experiences and opportunities for me to grow and learn and progress before Him. I know that when I make mistakes that Heavenly Father has provided a Savior for me to atone for those mistakes. That Savior is Heavenly Father’s Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ – my Savior, my Redeemer, my only hope! Along with my Savior Jesus Christ I receive help and guidance through the Holy Ghost. This is a wonderful benefit in my life as I need all the help I can get! I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the grove of trees where he went to pray. Through Joseph Smith the true church of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the Lord’s prophet, seer and revelator on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book. I have read it many times over the years and I am continually amazed at its depth and simple testimony of the things of God and the incredible witness it is of Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. Over and over again the Spirit has borne witness to my soul that the things I am reading in the Book of Mormon are true. As I strive to live by its teachings I have been and am greatly blessed.

How I live my faith

As members of the church we have the opportunity to accept assignments or “callings’. My current calling is to be the president of the women’s auxiliary in our congregation. This calling is a very challenging stretch for me, however, I appreciate the opportunity the Lord has given me to grow and progress before Him. He is helping me every step of the way. For many years I taught the adult Sunday School class and really enjoyed learning and teaching the doctrine of the gospel. Through these and other opportunities to serve I have grown as an individual and as a member of a wonderful community of church members. They have become family to me. Sometimes I grow very slowly and at other times much faster but as I look back over the years I am amazed to see how far the Lord has brought me! I am so very greatly blessed by His love, mercy, grace and tender care! As I have come to realize how blessed I am I am so much more determined to continue to cheer and bless and brighten the lives of others as I press forward towards my Savior Jesus Christ.
