Hi I'm Kiri

I'm a mom of four beautiful children, a teacher of many, and I write children's novels. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've learned more about life and everything in it through my role as a wife and mother, than any other way. My husband and I have been married for 27 years, and every day is a new adventure. We value our relationship enough to accept change, and grow together, hand in hand. As our kids have gotten older, we've shifted with them as we've taught, and they've grown, and now head out into their own lives. I have a passion for writing, especially children's novels. I also love teaching. I've taught in several different public schools over the years, as well as clubs, classes, conferences, and groups. My specialty is in Gifted Education. I love watching kids move toward their potential. I also love to sew quilts, grow vegetables, play the piano, and photograph snowflakes. You could call me a snowflake chaser - that's my kind of extreme sport.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a big house, filled with lots of siblings, and daily spirituality. My parents worked hard to teach us the gospel of Jesus Christ. I've always been a Mormon. When I was a teenager, I received my own personal message from God that He loved me, and the path I was on was right. As an adult, when challenges have come, I have relied heavily on the knowledge I gained in my youth, plus the continued understandings I have added over the years. I'm a Mormon because this is the path to happiness, both in life here and now, and for eternity. With a sure conviction of Heavenly Father's love, and regular reassurances of His support, I can move forward with a smile, even when life's challenges swirl around me. This is the path I want to be on.

How I live my faith

Each day our family studies the word of God through His scriptures. We also pray together. We look for ways to recognize the blessings from Him in our lives. I am so grateful for so many blessings! On Sundays, we attend church meetings. I love to study and teach about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I think about Heavenly Father's plan for us every day, and look for ways to pass my understandings on to my kids and the people around me.
