Hi I'm Thayne Allen

I grew up on a reservation South Dakota USA, I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in a large family with nine brothers and one sister, out of the eleven children I was the seventh. In school I participated in football, wrestling, band, choir, NHS, and scouting. I have received several awards for my sporting achievements and have participated in numerous music festivals and have been accepted to sing in several prestigious choruses in my state. I always did my best in my activities while also trying to maintain good academic standing and ended up being the the valedictorian of my high school graduating class. The spring after my mission I will be attending BYU Idaho to study biochemistry, in order to pursue a career in medical research.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon church). My parents always took me and my siblings to church every Sunday. When I was little it was just a routine, but as I grew, understanding started to come to me. The teachings of the gospel actually started to mean something to me. My testimony was strengthened by those around me and by reading the scriptures and praying to my father in heaven. Through this study and prayer I've come to know for myself that God lives and he loves us each deeply, individually, and personally. He has put us on this earth so that we might receive a body and try our best to live so that we may live with him again. I know that Jesus is the savior of the world and that payed the price in order to help us be forgiven for our sins, because we are not perfect, we all make mistakes. I've come to know that Joseph smith was a true prophet of God, and he was directed by God himself to reestablish God's church on the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God. He receives revelation to guide the people of the Earth through these difficult times. I testify that this is the true church of God and if we search our hearts we can all know of its truths.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, have held several leadership positions among the young men of the church. I have fulfilled my priesthood duties of passing, preparing and eventually blessing the sacrament. I have also participated in the church choir. And I will soon be serving my mission in the Louisiana, Baton Rouge Mission.
