Hi I'm Hayley

I am goofy. I love to play soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Much like most students I started school with the desire to go into one field but now find myself contemplating other options. I would classify myself as an athletic person, for the most part. While growing up I played soccer competitively for about thirteen years and I still play for fun from time to time but not to the same rigor. I love colorful things! From time to time I actually have some artistic ability and it is fun to be creative. I also love to participate in activities of all kinds and to help others do the same. This is one of the main reasons I participated in my high school's associated student body. When I was in high school my parents got a divorce and ever since I have lived with my mom. My dad got remarried just after I graduated high school. Some other fun facts about myself include that I love to sing (all the time), I love to read cheesy love stories, and I am a little crazy obsessed with the Lord of the Rings movies.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the church to an extent, it was ultimately me who chose to be a Mormon. My mom took my siblings and me to church when we were young but my dad didn't go to church at all when I was young. He is not a Mormon and was not always the most supportive. It was hard growing up with two different philosophies of life and how to live. I was constantly on a teeter-totter of sorts with the church, I would be very interested and then I would get distracted. Around my sophomore year of high school I knew that I wanted to be a Mormon in all that I did. I wanted my faith to show through my actions. Since I made that decision

How I live my faith

I have had many different responsibilities and opportunities to serve within the church of the span of my life. The most recent calling, or job within the church, I had was while I was up in Idaho attending school. The family is a very important institution in the church. To support healthy family relationships a family night is recommended and on Monday nights no other church activities take place to allow for this. What is really awesome is that up at school we had the same opportunity. Even though most of the students at my school did not have their families nearby we still had the opportunity to develop a better relationship with those we lived with and others who attended church at the same time as us. My responsibility was to be in charge of planning these activities. It was always a nice experience and it truly did bring all of us closer together.
