Hi I'm Kailey

I was raised in Idaho and have been dancing for 12 years of my life. I am Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated High School and completed a term of college this summer. I have a massive love for God, food, naps, and dancing. I believe The Lion King said it best when stating, "You are more than you have become".

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, but that doesn't mean I haven't had moments where I felt like I didn't believe. In fact, I used to think the "rules" were overrated and that Mormonism was too strict for me. My conversion began when I committed myself to read the Book of Mormon completely. People have always talked about it's truthfulness and the happiness it brings them, so because I was raised LDS, I figured I should find out for myself if I truly believe this stuff. As I read the Book of Mormon and prayed daily for guidance to know if it was true, I began to find that my days went a lot smoother; don't think my life was rough, because it definitely wasn't! But I found myself full of joy all day long, all week long. Upon finishing the Book of Mormon and praying to know for myself of it's truth, I began to realize who I truly was. I am a daughter of God. I know where I came from, I know why I am here, and I know where I'm going after this life. I know that Heavenly Father throws trials in our lives to help us grow, and I know that he doesn't give us a burden that is more than we can handle. I know He wants us to constantly communicate with Him, whether we are depressed or the happiest we've ever been; He wants us to remember Him always, and he DOES answer our prayers in His own time. The "rules" that I once found annoying are only guide lines given for our safety, and I know that by being obedient to them, we are blessed. I know families can be together forever; not just until death do us part, even after that. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that the true church of Jesus Christ is on the earth today. This gospel is an honest, pure happiness! I am Mormon. I know it. I live it. I truly love it.

How I live my faith

I am a firm believer in service and empathy. I've had many leadership responsibilities in church, mainly over the young women my age. I have also been a class president for seminary in High School, and I feel that these opportunities to practice leadership skills have not only helped the people I work with, but they have helped me grow closer to my Savior as well. For my senior project in High School, I organized and choreographed a dance for 5th grade girls at two different schools for free. This lasted for two weeks per school, and taught me many Christ-like attributes to apply in my daily life! These include patience, a genuine love for everyone, and consistent kindness despite the little frustrations that may occur. Aside from these activities, I like to go about life with a positive attitude, viewing everyone as children of God; it changes everything.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kailey
Yes, I believe that our God is a loving Heavenly Father who wouldn't abandon us or leave us hanging. I believe that He would absolutely call a prophet to lead and guide His people just as He did in the scriptures. Times are getting harder, the world is getting more and more wicked, and I know our Heavenly Father loves us enough to keep a modern day prophet. Show more Show less
