Hi I'm Rachel Stoker

I was born and raised in Utah. I'm currently serving a mission in Canada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and I love animals. I play the flute for 6 years. I can sort of play the piano. I'm the oldest out of 6 kids. I love listening to music and I like playing with my siblings and my friends. I love to go camping as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. As I've grown up I've had my many struggles. Sometimes I wonder if the church was really true. But I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints is true. At times I still struggle with feelings of indifferent. However, my Savior gives me comfort and is always with me even when others are not.

How I live my faith

I've serve a lot of the younger girls as I grow up. I was one of the many youth leaders among. I would plan activities and help the girls as much as I could. Even if I was giving comfort or being a friend. I usually try to help others that I knew. Usually it was babysitting for others. Now that I'm older I do visiting teaching. I go visit women in our ward with my companion. We check on them and basically make sure they're ok and see if they need any help.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Rachel Stoker
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. It's a opportunity for us to teach others about our beliefs. If we have a desire to serve, we may. It's not force upon us, it's our own choice to make. When we go on a mission all the money that supports us comes from the missionary themselves. It can come from our families too, sometimes both. The Church doesn't pay any money for us while we're on are missions. We pay ourselves for all of it. Anyone who has a desire to go may go. Show more Show less
