Hi I'm Shantell

I am a convert. Daisies, Reese's, hiking, and softball are my "go-tos" I have finally found my purpose and, yes, I am a Mormon! :)

About Me

I was baptized in 2013 and it has brought me the greatest happiness! I have found something that gives me purpose because I know now that God has a specific plan for me. I am currently serving as a missionary in North Carolina! Did I ever think I would end up where I am today?? Not at all! It has been the hardest, and most rewarding experience. I have been stretched and knocked down, but have also felt so much love and happiness. The things I have learned while on my mission have made me such a better person. However, it is not just my mission that has changed me. It is the Gospel of Christ that has changed me. I love being outdoors, exploring new places, and meeting new people! Growing up I played softball so I can be perfectly happy at the ball fields all day :) I also loved to do photography and dance! Dance was a passion that kind of just showed up one day haha I tried it out in high school and have loved it ever since! I am going to school for elementary education and more specifically, special education...possibly. I have realized that our plans may not be God's plans, but through prayer I can know exactly which path to take. That is so reassuring! I have six siblings with me being the second oldest. My siblings are crazy and I love them :) My parents are divorced which just means that I have even more family to love! ;) My parents are wonderful examples and I am eternally grateful for ALL of them :)

Why I am a Mormon

A few friends gave me a Book of Mormon with their testimonies written inside, when I saw how happy they were and the light they carried I was curious to know what caused it and how I could have that as well. I was hungry to find my purpose. I started meeting with LDS missionaries and when we talked about the Plan of Salvation I got this sense of peace. That was when I gained my testimony. And it continues to grow every day as I rely on the Lord. Through Him, I have found strength I did not know I had.

How I live my faith

I taught the 8 year olds in church back home and loved every minute of it! Being a recent convert, it really helped me to learn as well. I strive to live my faith by setting an example to my family, especially my younger siblings. This life can be really hard sometimes, but I have learned that having a positive attitude can change my perspective on any situation.
