Hi I'm Ash

Am an energetic and open minded lad 21 year old Lad from Ghana. I embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ through LDS. Am a Mormon

About Me

Am an optimistic fellow and i love to listen to people talk, while i occasionally inject my opinion. Grew in a kind off small family in which i am the last and only male, growing up was kind off less of the gospel of Jesus Christ and more of chaos but i survived. My curiosity for getting to know and dissect things to gain a proper understanding i guess led me to the Church of Jesus Christ of these last days. I never back down from any challenge because to me any new challenge is an adventure. I my spare time i like to do a whole lot of stuff; watching movies, reading Ebooks among others.

Why I am a Mormon

Although some might argue that for it is only through grace that we can be saved i.e Acts 15:11, The bible also entreats us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling in Philippians 2:12 it is expedient unto us to seek the truth by asking God as a young boy did in 1820 upon which the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored. For me my conversion was aided by the fact that there is the need for a Power and Authority to do the works of the All Mighty Father down here on earth, even in carnal or earthly or temporal affairs there is a requirement of a certain level of power and authority so why not in the things which will lead us to our salvation and exaltation? And this Power and Authority which i have come to understand and embrace with no brain washing is only found in the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ in these last days, which was handed down from each dispensation down to a modern day Prophet to our current Apostle Thomas S. Monson whom i sustain. I know and it's a strong conviction that i relate to you that the truthfulness of the gospel preached in this church is true and they contain all that our heavenly Father would have us do down on this earth to prepare us to inherit the Kingdoms and Mansions in His place Psalms 82:6. And if we adhere to His commandments and instructions by reading our scriptures and listening to the councils of our Leaders, we would build our selves sufficiently in both our spirit and temporal duties to be be able to achieve our fullness of our exaltation through Christ at the last day. Amen

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to exercise the fruits of the spirit as talked about in Galatians 5:22 i.e being kind to others, being charitable, serving others be it small or big. I try to engage people by handing them missionary pamphlets when ever i can. I am with my missionaries, calling others who will listen, to come unto Christ when ever my time permits me, not because am a ward missionary but because i have the desire to do the work.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Mormonism is first and foremost not a proper tag for our faith, it is used only as a contextual tag for distinction seeks. We believe as Latter day saints the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. FYI read our Article of Faith. People are of this opinion because 1. We Latter Day saints build temples for our Lord 2. We Latter Day saints perform certain ordinances 3. We Latter Day saints aren't liberal or flexible in performing certain ordinances 4. We Latter Day saints belief our Church is the only true church on the surface of the earth 5. We Latter Day Saints build strange buildings to worship in To address these, inquire of the Lord as the Prophet Joseph Smith yet a child did, pouring out his soul to the Lord, it is only then that we can gain a strong and affirmed conviction through the Holy spirit of promise as you listen to its promptings to you about the church. I would kindly beseech those who label the church as occultist to reason using this; do you believe in Prophets of old? Do you believe in their Prophesies, testimonies and accounts? Then would you believe if a modern day Prophet was to bear his testimony of our Lords gospel and plans for our salvation? Can you firmly and boldly declare that his words are false? If your answers to these are Yes' and to the last one a No then i would entreat you to take the last step that is researching the scriptural materials of the church to better understand our beliefs Read Nephi 2:11 if the stubborn spirit persists Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

It would be improper to say "mormonism" or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was founded. Then you might as well say all the excess scripture, ordinances amongst other things we do and practice in the church were instituted with our carnal minds. But it would be contextually, logically and most of all Spiritually correct, if we say Church was Restored because first and foremost we as Latter Day Saints believe and our believes affirmed as to the truthfulness of the Church and its doctrines and it's a known and agreed upon fact that the Bible was translated by scholars without the power of revelation and even before that many deduction made from within it hence it's truthfulness intact but it's fullness partially diminished. It's true that through the young boy of 14 years, the promise of the restoration of the church and by so doing the fullness of the gospel with it in the spring of 1820, yet he wasn't the founder, only a mere mortal, being used as an instrument towards the accomplishing of the Lord's work and hence hastening his work of salvation. So beloved, it stands to reason that the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is and will be the Lord our God through revelations to His Prophets and Apostles unto us His children.
