Hi I'm Carter

I'm an avid learner, experimental musician, and a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of four awesome kids with two awesome parents. I'm pretty tall. I love reading and being swept into other worlds and on grand adventures. The concept of flight has always fascinated me. I love music, and play lots of musical instruments, especially the saxophone and the french horn. I was the drum major for my high school marching band. Music from other cultures has always fascinated me, and I want to learn to play music from around the world. I love making instruments, including clay ocarinas, PVC flutes, and so on. I'm in the process of constructing an Appalachian dulcimer. I've always loved learning, and pursued as much knowledge as I could get my hands on in high school. I love learning about new and different cultures and ways of viewing the world. I was accepted into UCLA to study mechanical engineering, but I chose to defer my admission to serve a mission for the Church. I'm currently serving in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because it makes me happy, happier than I could ever be on my own. The joys that the gospel brings to my life are too numerous to count. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and that he died for the sins of the world and that he lives again. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that we have living prophets on the earth today to lead and guide the church through revelation. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. With that knowledge, I want for myself to live the commandments my Heavenly Father has given me. I entered the waters of baptism knowing what I was choosing to do and grateful for the opportunity to do it. I am a Mormon because I know that it is the way that I can return to live with God again.

How I live my faith

My faith affects every aspect of my life. It helps guide my choices, from my choice in music and entertainment to big life decisions. I have a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I rely on them for strength, both in hard times and in calm waters. Right now I am living my faith by teaching it to others full time as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
